This weekend we went out to Spencerville Fair. This was my first official Fair, I was there last year but with clients from work. I didnt participate in the events with THE MAN like I did this year. Let me give you a run down of what we did. And yes there was lots of drinking going around. In fact I think this fair is used as an excuse to drink however I dont think the residents of this small town need any excuses. Its a party all the time down there.
Friday we arrived at about 7pm locating THE MAN'S parents at the legion. So we had a few drinks visited and then went over to the midway fair grounds for a bit. It was a nice walk over. There were three HUGE TENTS and I do mean huge probably the size of two arenas. We walked around looked at the rides and soaked in the atmosphere of carnival food, lights flashing, screams of kids on rides and the game carnies trying to coxe you into paying 20 bucks only to win a tiny stuffed animal or plastic balloon hammer. We played a couple rounds of bingo and them did the hammer toss. Yeah plastic hammer won, woohoo we gave it to some kid. We went back to the house at 1130 and visited with parents while having another few drinks and went to bed in the trailor. Saturday we were up early, breakfast eaten and out at the parade for 11am. The men with their big coffee cups, only they werent filled with coffee....You guess what they were filled with! Watched the parade then went over to the fair. We walked through some exhibits looked at the petting zoo and then THE MAN won me a big stuffed animal. I got the "DONKEY" from Shrek. We went over to the beer tent and had a few drinks. We were invited to go visit some other people, friends of the family so thats just what we did. When we arrived we were offered more drinks. We visited then walked over to other friends houses where we had more beer and sipped on margaritas. Only the visiting didnt stop there we then left there around 7 and walked over to the other friends where there was a barbq going on and had an awsome dinner followed by even......yep you guessed it more drinks. By 1030 we were drank out so we went home and crashed. Sunday was virtually a non drinking day. There were more shows and drinking over at the beer tent but we didnt participate. We decided to visit more family and then come home. We did some shopping and thats about it.
SO now with that weekend behind us the next couple weeks are going to be very busy. We are emptying the living room and getting ready to put new flooring in. We are putting wood flooring in the livign room and maybe some in the bedroom we will have to see. Then Thanksgiving will be around the corner and THE MAN and I have invited the family to come here for thanksgiving so we will be busy doing that.
