I submitted a 25 page booklet of exactly why I needed the surgery complete with letters from myself, from every medical doctor and health care professional stating I needed the surgery for various reasons. I submitted charts of the doctors and what statements they made along with their letters and then a second chart with a list complete with dates of different diets and exercise programs and how they impacted my life. THen the finale was with the weight specialist and his 2 page letter as to why diets dont work for me and that my ONLY option for a healthy prolonged life was the surgery. I was still unsure that this would be sufficient evidence that surgery was necessary. I was gearing myself up to believing that I would need to appeal the decision. Then today I called my doctor to see if they had gotten any information and they had. It was approved.
Just last night I told THE MAN that the greatest christmas gift I could receive this year would to get approval for my surgery and it has happened. YEAHHHH!
So this afternoon I called he surgeon's office and they took all my information and then said they would email me my package this week. It will tell me step by step what process I need to go through and where I go from here. Next year by this time I will be a whole different person.
